Talk with High School Students about “Studying Abroad” on Thursday, January 15th in Ikebukuro 1月15日(木) 高校生と「海外で学ぶこと」について話すプログラム in 池袋

This is an interactive program for high school students preparing for studying abroad.
Participants will share their own study abroad experiences in Japan or overseas to motivate the students and help them make the most of their upcoming study abroad experience.

◆Date & Time
Thursday, January 15th, 1:30 PM ～ 3:00 PM
Meeting time will be around 1:00 PM

◆Location
A high school about a 10-minute walk from Ikebukuro Station, Tokyo

◆Program Details
Share your personal experiences about the value of studying abroad with students preparing for short-term study abroad in English-speaking countries.
Help students set goals and think about “missions” they can accomplish during their study abroad to make the experience meaningful.
Discussions with students will be in Japanese, but opening and closing remarks to the whole group will be in English.
All students are male, 3rd-year high school students (18 years old), and there will be 8 students in total.

Self-introduction (in English)
Discussion with each student (in Japanese)
Talk for about 20 minutes about your reasons for studying abroad (in Japan), challenges you faced, achievements, personal growth, and what you gained from the experience.
This will be done with 3 groups of students.
Advise students as they plan their study abroad missions.
Encouraging message to students (in English)

※Please prepare your talk in advance. If you wish to show any materials or photos, please bring a PC or tablet.

※The session may be photographed, and images may be published on the cross the border website or in other materials.

◆Eligibility
Must be able to speak English at a business level or higher.
Ability to speak Japanese is a plus.
Should be able to give advice based on personal study abroad experience and preferably be currently studying abroad.

※There is a follow-up presentation on March 10th (Tue) to reflect on the study abroad experience.
Participants who can attend from 11:00 AM ～ 1:00 PM are preferred.

海外留学前の高校生と「海外で学ぶこと」について話し合う交流プログラムです。
皆さんの日本（または海外）での留学について話していただくことで、海外留学へのモチベーションをあげ、より有意義な留学期間にすることが目的です。

◆日程

集合は13:00を予定

◆場所
池袋駅から徒歩10分くらいの高等学校

◆内容
英語圏への短期海外留学前の生徒に対し、留学することの価値をご自身の経験にもとづいて話をしてください。
生徒が留学を有意義なものにできるように、留学中に達成すべきミッションを一緒に考えていただきます。
生徒と話し合うときは日本語を使っていただきますが、
最初と最後の全体向けのコメントの際は英語を使っていただきます。
生徒は全員男性で高校3年生（18歳） 8名を予定しています

海外留学（日本）を決めた理由や苦労したこと、成功したこと、留学で成長できたことや人生において得られたものなどを約20分で話してください。

※話せるように考えてきてください。
資料や写真を見せたい人はPCやタブレットなどご持参ください

※交流の様子を撮影し、撮影したものはcross the borderなどのwebサイトや資料に掲載する予定です。

英語がビジネスレベル以上話せる人

ご自身の海外留学の経験を元にアドバイスができる人で現在留学生が望ましい

※3月10日（火）に留学後の振り返り発表会があります。この日程も参加できる方ですとなおいいです。11時～13時を予定しています
