Article Contributor for FireDucks Data Analysis Library

NEC is seeking individuals to evaluate and write about “FireDucks,” a Python library designed for data analysis. NEC’s FireDucks promises significant performance improvements over popular libraries like Pandas, especially for handling large and complex datasets.

◆Requirements:
・Strong proficiency in Python and familiarity with pandas-like data frame libraries.
・Background in Data Science or Data Analysis, particularly with extensive data handling.
・(option) Regular contributor to technical articles, active in technical meetups, and possibly experienced in Kaggle competitions.

◆Responsibilities:
・Create sample use cases related to voluminous Data Analysis and evaluate the performance of FireDucks.
・Compare the performance of FireDucks with Pandas and other data frame libraries like Polars, DuckDB, Modin, etc.
・Summarize the findings in the form of technical articles in English with eye-catching titles (and required source code, diagrams, etc.).
・It would be recommended to frame the story by highlighting some of the key FireDucks features (like high Pandas compatibility, lazy execution, optimization without any changes, multi-threaded implementation etc.)
・It would be highly appreciated if some bug or performance issues detected during the activity could be reported to the FireDucks development team.

・Duration is approximately 2 weeks to draft the article, with up to 1 month for final adjustments.
・Articles will be published on selected websites as per client’s choice.
・Copyrights for the articles will be transferred to the client upon submission.
・Your name will be published. This can be your real name, nickname, or account name.
・There may be cases where we request revisions after reviewing the content of the articles.
・Please refer to already published blogs for the volume of the articles.

◆Reward:
30,000 yen per article (10.21% withholding tax will be deducted from 30,000 yen).
Payments will be made via bank transfer on the 20th of following month of final submission (limited to Japanese banks).

◆Selection Process:
Based on the application materials, we will conduct an initial screening via email correspondence to cross the border. Following that, there will be online interviews with NEC.
